The Intern, Web Design will assist in the design and production of a variety of digital media deliverables for Web sites, e-mails and other online channels.
Position Responsibility: Assist in visual design of online assets and user interfaces Assist with production of online graphics and photos Build Web and e-mail interfaces from PSD layouts Assist with the creation of online ads and promotional banners, including storyboarding, graphics production and animation Required Education and Experience:
College student currently enrolled in an interactive design, fine art, or graphic design program preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Outstanding visual design skills Knowledge of user experience design and user interface design trends and best practices Ability to hand-code (X)HTML and CSS Knowledge of W3C Web standards Skilled user of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash Working knowledge of ActionScript 2 or 3 Ability to work efficiently with limited direct supervision Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential component of the job Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues Preferred Skills and Experience: Portfolio of interactive design work including description of your role in each piece Ability to create information, interface and navigation design diagrams, including sitemaps, wireframes, user flows and prototypes Familiarity with JavaScript and JavaScript libraries such as JQuery Interest in usability and user testing Experience with file and content management tools Minnesota Public Radio internships are part-time (15-20 hours/week).
